The Fiesta Movement - First Results of Ford's Ambitious Social Marketing Campaign
The first chapter of Ford's social marketing campaign the Fiesta Movement has finished with some interesting results.
To launch the Fiesta in the US, Ford gave 100 consumers a car for 6 months and encouraged them to act as agents performing different tasks. The tasks ranged from wrestling alligators to making a designer clothing range using a Fiesta! Armed with flip cameras, all the challenges are documented on YouTube, Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.
The initial results have been extremely successful with over 6.5 million video views on YouTube, 50k requests for information about the car (the majority are new to Ford) and 10k Fiestas sold in the first 6 days. With Ford currently recruiting for Chapter 2 of the Fiesta Movement it will be interesting to keep an eye on the success of future campaigns.
